Things Beauty Bloggers Have Taught Me

Things Beauty Bloggers Have Taught Me

I would never consider myself a beauty blogger. That’s purely because my posts are definitely more the lifestyle niche, however I do dabble beauty posts now and again. I would never class myself as a beauty-holic and I’m definitely not a professional of any sorts.

To be completely honest with you, I only ever wear a full face of make up once a week if you’re lucky, I’m just too lazy. One thing I have done is followed beauty bloggers for a long time. I’m one of these people who would rather read the review before spending my money or trying something new. Bit boring I know, but each to their own and all that jazz.

Beauty Bloggers post

Anyway, today I thought I’d share a few of my favourite little beauty hacks which I’ve learnt over the years with you guys. There have been so many things which I’ve found don’t work, but these have definitely worked for me.

  • Bobby pins in your bobble vertically helps give your ponytail volume.
  • PVA glue around your nails when painting them avoids smudging and keeps your nails neat.
  • Dry shampoo is your best friend when you have brightly coloured hair, bring back my blue hair days please? Washing less avoids fading.
  • Fill in your lips with lip liner before applying lipstick to make it last longer.
  • Static hair? Hair spray your brush and then brush your hair.
  • Contouring works on EVERY face shape, you just have to find out which technique works for you.
  • Use concealer around the edges of your lips to create a sharp lip line, and remove any unwanted bleeding/smudges.
  • Sweep a little powder over your favourite satin lipstick to turn it matte.
  • Nowhere to store your lashes? Use the packaging of a Kinder Egg toy.
  • Practice makes perfect when make up comes in to play.

I would love to hear what handy tips and tricks you have! Let me know in the comments or tweet me!

This is a great list! I’m definitely taking a lot of new info away from this post! I love the idea of using the packaging of a Kinder egg as storage!

I’ve been trying to do my nails more often and I am historically bad at it so I’ll definitely have to try the glue haha! These are great tips 😀

This is interesting to read and see what you’ve picked up on / learned! I love the trick of using lip liner with the lipstick, also, I definitely agree that more practice makes perfect with makeup! Everytime, you just get better & better!

All very good things to be taught! I’m the same, I rarely wear a full face of make up. I find doing make up pretty tedious if I’m honest and I just can’t be arsed most days! xxx

I need to try the concealer around lip trick, especially since it’s getting cooler now and I only want to wear dark shades!

These are really great tips, I knew a few of them but not all of them. I like the idea of using powder to change your lipsticks to being matte, will try that one out! X

I’m nowhere near a beauty blogger myself either, and I probably put on a whole face of makeup once a month if I’m lucky, but like you, I really enjoy reading beauty blogger posts! I had no idea about some of the tips you provided, though. I need to get a new tube of concealer, but when I do, I’ll definitely be trying out the lipstick hack to make a sharp lip line. I love dark colours, but they always bleed and make it look like I’ve been kissing someone, haha!

Loved seeing what you’ve learnt from beauty bloggers and some of them are the same as what I’ve picked up over the years! Especially about the magic of contouring, no matter what face shape you have. I have yet to master the perfect method for me but like you, I don’t tend to do a full face a lot so that’s probably why I haven’t figured it out yet. Practice definitely makes perfect (:

I don’t use a lot of make up either. Plus I don’t own as much too. I love reading beauty bloggers posts though and watching the videos is the best..

    Thanks for the hacks!
