3 Relaxing ways to Boost Productivity

We all love a good relaxation session, right? Relaxing is a huge part of self care and as you know that’s something I’m working on this year, in various different ways. We all have our own ways of relaxing, some will work better for me than they will for you, and vice versa. I’m no expert, but today I thought I’d share with you my three ways of relaxing which helps boost my productivity; in hope that they may help you too!

Have a nice bath & pamper session

Lately, I’ve been making sure I take some time out at least once a week to treat myself to a nice bath and a pamper session, usually on a Thursday or Friday. I run myself a nice hot bath, like the crazy girl hot that no man can seem to understand, pop in a nice lush bath bomb or some bubble bath and just lie there and day dream, or fall asleep. Sometimes I even treat myself and put my laptop on top of the toilet with Netflix on, y’know. It helps me feel squeaky clean, silky smooth and ready to conquer the world.

Go for a walk

I always find that when Nathan and I go for a nice walk on a Sunday, it really does help me sort my head out and plan my week. Having a relaxing Sunday evening definitely does help my productivity throughout the week. Although, I haven’t really figured out to get over the Sunday night/Monday morning blues just yet; but watch this space!

Read a book

I will be the first to admit that I definitely do not appreciate how amazing it is to get lost in a new book. I don’t read often enough, and this is definitely something I want to change throughout this year because its amazing how inspired you can come away from reading something you love.

Relaxing ways to boost productivity!

I used to be one of these people that would kick myself for relaxing, because I thought it was taking time away from my to-do lists and it would push me behind schedule. But what I’ve learnt lately is that if I plan it right, taking time out for myself boosts my motivation and helps my productivity in the long run.

  3. I love doing all three of these things to relax and take some me time so this was great to see you also find it useful! I read a lot and not only does it relieve stress and act as a great way to disconnect from the world for a bit, it also really expands your vocabulary and you learn so much too!     great post! a hot bath is apart of my every day routine (besides hair washing nights obvi) i’ve found it really helps me rest better at night to climb into bed with the day i’ve had kind of washed off me. it’s so important to relax and take time for yourself. if you don’t you’ll push yourself to burn out which is the exact opposite of productive! x

    Walking is one of my favorite things to do to relax, and my dog enjoys it, too. Reading comes in at a close second, followed by coloring. I have really jumped into the coloring craze and find it very relaxing.

  11. The last thing you said about relaxing boosting your motivation and productivity is so true! I had my first day off from content writing all month yesterday, and today I’ve gone back feeling so much better. Beforehand, I found myself slacking, and then working till really late to make up for procrastinating, and it was a really vicious cycle! I love the tips you’ve provided, too; the reading one is a great way I like to relax, and it feels productive too, especially because I have a yearly reading goal I’m working towards!

    Walking is so good for relaxation! I have taken to walking more – taking in the fresh air has really made a positive change to my life as well! Ooooh, I see you’re reading Fantastic Beasts!     I’m a firm believer that most schedules and to-do lists can change and be flexed, especially if a break or two is needed and that’s okay! Breaks can give us a fresh perspective on life and our goals. I’m glad you’re beginning to embrace them and here’s to you getting lost in more books whilst reading 😉

  15. I love going for a walk and listening to a podcast when I need to wind down. It’s one of my favorite ways to relax and I love giving the dogs a good walk too!

  17. Having a nice pamper sesh always makes me feel recharged. Going out on walks is also great for this! Great shouts.

    I neglect self-care way too often, however, I find that by simply sitting down with a good book and a cup of tea, I’m always 10x more productive afterwards. If I don’t relax, I’ll just burn-out. I love going for a good walk too! Although, I’m not a fan of the cold weather atm haha

  19. Going for a walk ALWAYS gets my thoughts flowing, I get fresh inspiration and new ideas and not in a stressful environment at all so it’s the best! I do love a bath for relaxation but I’ve got to say it makes me much more sleepy than productive, haha!

    I always find that exercise helps! If I can push myself to be productive in one area of life, it always motivates me to do better elsewhere too. Maybe not the most relaxing though 😂 x

    Having just had a lovely hot bath myself this evening, you’re right: it’s such a great way of unwinding. And same for reading a book – I spent the entire evening reading the other day and amazed myself with how well I slept! Great post!

  23. I love reading but this month I’ve been in such a reading slump I haven’t even been able to finish one book so I really need to change that! I can’t wait to move out so I can start having a bath every now and then, I love the idea of putting the laptop on the toilet seat, I’d never trust myself with one of those shelves that go over the bath like most people on Instagram have!   27. I’m STILL one of those people that kick themselves for relaxing, so I totally know how that feels. I have such a problem with wanting to be productive 24/7 (I wrote a blog post about it last year!) but it’s something I’m working on. Having a bath and a reading a book are always good options!

  31. Yes, taking time for a nice hot bath or a long reading session always helps me with getting my motivation back and I can focus so much better when I do that regularly.
    (And I’ll be watching this blog to see when you find a solution for the monday morning blues because I’m in desperate need for that ^^)

    I’m lazy so talking a walk is a no but I love reading! And listening to music while lying in bed improves my mood to makes feel motivated.
