What’s On My Fashion Wishlist for Summer

The sun has been shining and that only means one thing, I need to change up my wardrobe a little. I came to get dressed for work ready for the 21 degree highs last week and realised, I literally had nothing which is weather appropriate. Which obviously lead to a little online shopping, whoops. I thought, maybe I should get rid of the thick jumpers I’ve been constantly wrapped up in lately to something a little more summery.

With saving I’ve been looking at purchasing some staple pieces without breaking the bank. I think this is a perfect way to change up my wardrobe a little without spending a fortune, and here are some of the things which have been added to my Wishlist for SS18.

P.s I have thrown in a few little accessories which I think are hella cute!

denim jacket|denim cami dress|grey pointed pumps|cropped mid rise jeans|crop toppaper bag trousers|shopper bag

I think you can tell, I’m not all that in to colour. But, with these being more staple pieces each item could look different in a different outfit with different accessories etc. What are your staple pieces for this SS18? I’d love to know! Let me know in the comments or tweet me!

Things I Can’t Live Without

Besides your usual, loved ones, water, phone, oxygen, you know…

My watch, because remember that lovely few days of sun we had this summer? Yes, you’re right, we’ve actually had some decent weather in the UK for once. Well I thought it would be really clever and keep it on whilst spending some time in the sun. I now have a horrific tan line where my watch is.

Disney, especially Disney films. They are the ultimate go to, when you can’t be bothered getting out of bed? Disney film. Can’t sleep? Disney film. Your sick? Disney film. There’s literally a Disney film for every occasion.

My diary. How could I go a week without my trusty battered diary? Not the journal type diary. However my diary has become my go to and I do occasionally write my feelings down in there, along with my notes for posts, and your usual doctors appointments etc noted down.

A meal I couldn’t live without? Bangers and mash. Good old, traditional bangers and mash. My ultimate favourite. None of your fancy shit, I’m such a plain Jane when it comes to food.

Hair dye. I’m one of these people that cannot go at least two months without dying my hair –  thank you to 15 year old me who wanted to ‘experiment’. Whether it’s touching up my roots or changing colour. Dying my hair makes me feel somewhat better about myself. Plus, I can’t stay seem to settle on a colour. Say hello to your blue haired gal, which you may not have seen yet because I’ve lost the selfie love.

You’re probably gonna giggle at this one, but I seriously could not live with out my nanna naps, microwave sleeps, you know them little naps which make you feel revived and refreshed after them? Them! In the morning, the afternoon, lunch time they just make me feel so much better about life. Mainly because I get full on naggy bitch mode when I’m tired.

Tote bags. Quirky, cute, crazy, plain all the tote bags. There is a tote bag for every occasion, every outfit, every mood. The bottom of my clothes rail is a tote bag heaven. I love me a good tote bag to finish off an outfit. Plus they are just so useful.

Since moving back to Nathan’s parents, one thing I have missed more than anything is having my own space. I’m one of these people that love’s to come home from work and just sit in silence for a little while to reflect on the day, and whilst we do have our own room here and I’m crazy thankful for them for having us back – it’s just not the same as having your own front door to close on the world.

What can’t you live without? Let me know in the comments or tweet me!

ASOS Spring Fashion Picks

Waking up to the sun shining automatically makes me excited. I am so excited for the summer months, and not having to wear like a gazillion layers to work. Plus, there is nothing more I love to do when I have zero pennies in my bank than to ‘pretend shop’ on ASOS or any other website I fancy. So with the slightly warmer weather approaching I thought I’d let you peak into my ASOS basket and see my top spring picks.

ASOS embroidered tee | ASOS linen maxi dress | ADIDAS jumper | ASOS flatform canvas trainers | ASOS Emilia jacquard ankle boots | GLAMOROUS fold-over backpack

Although I love everything I’ve picked (otherwise I wouldn’t have picked them duuhh), I think my all time favourites are the ASOS linen maxi because you could wear it on warmer days as it is, but it would also look cute on cooler days with a long sleeved white t-shirt underneath. Along with, the ASOS Emilia ankle boots because *insert heart eye emoji’s here* they are just beautiful.

Inspirations for a Lifestyle Post

img_0503

When I wrote this post, little did I know it would become my most popular post of 2016, with 155 views and 100 likes. It just goes to show people prefer to read posts that you enjoy to write because I thoroughly enjoyed writing this. It was so much fun thinking of different things that can help inspire others to write a lifestyle post.

The Versatile Blogger Award

img_5002

Taking part in tag’s is always fun, you end up finding out things about other bloggers you never knew, whether is a personal tag or not they’re always fun to read! I was tagged in this by Hollie from It’s Hollie Ann and although I’ve known Hollie for years, we actually went to school together, I actually learnt something new about her from her post!

The Big Move

img_3707

I still remember the excitement I had when writing this post. I can’t believe Nathan and I have been in our home for nearly a year already. It only feels like we moved in a couple of months ago! Time flies and all that. I can tell you now, we’re still picking up bits that we need, like the other day I made boiled eggs for dippy soldiers for breakfast the other day and realised we had no egg cups. Yes, I did call it dippy soldiers, I’m still a kid at heart okay?

Primark Haul

img_0207

Ahhh, a good old Primark haul. Who doesn’t love to see what others pick up in the shops? All though I must say, all of my picks from this haul are stored away in my drawers now, as it’s a little cold to be wearing them at the moment!

Mini Drugstore Haul – The Aftermath

All though I’ve never been much of a beauty blogger – I’m not the best with make up and I’d much rather chuck my hair up in a messy bun in the mornings. I am rather proud of how well this post did! Maybe, it will give me the confidence to toy around with beauty posts a little more this year? Who knows!

Well that’s it, my top five posts of this year. Sitting here cosy in bed, I can’t help but wonder what will be my top 5 posts of 2017?

I would like to say that I have finished my Christmas shopping, but will I actually ever finish? I always seem to think I’ve finished, but then end up picking up extra bits for people when I don’t really need to.

I have to say, stocking fillers are my favourite thing to buy, little quirky things that you just know someone will love – especially if they’re meaningful. Today I’m going to share my must have stocking fillers for the lovely ladies in your life.

With summer pretty much over now, I need to update my wardrobe to keep me warm over the autumn and winter months. ASOS is my favourite place to shop lately, purely because of the range they have on their website, so many options in just one place!

The colder months only mean one thing, jumpers, layers and my favourite ankle boots! I think autumn is definitely my favourite month for fashion because I just love layers and comfy clothes like oversized jumpers and scarves.

20 things I want to do in my twenties

I’ve always wanted to write a bucket list but never actually gotten around to doing it. So, here I am surrounded with scribbles and doodles trying to figure out the top 20 things that I’d like to do in my 20’s. From dreams to real life, here we go!

  1. Disneyworld Florida – I think I’ve wanted to go ever since I was a kid! I think everyone wants to go when they’re a kid but I just haven’t grown out of that stage.
  2. Sky Dive – I have a fear of heights, so this would be a tough one but I think the experience would be out of this world.
  3. Christmas in New York – C’mon, how pretty does it look?
  4. Go to a festival – I think most people these days have been to a festival, but I haven’t whether it be because of work or money I’ve never really had the chance.
  5. Find myself a Pen-pal – I’ve wanted a pen pal for years, but I’d love to make a connection with someone on the other side of the world and be able to tell them about my life and hear about theres (in some other form than social media).
  6. Dye my hair a crazy colour – I should have done this when my hair was blonde, but due to work I wasn’t allowed.
  7. Get Married – Duh! Doesn’t every girl want to experience their dream wedding?
  8. Get a Mortgage – Bit of a ‘boring’ practical thing, but I want my forever home whilst I’m young.
  9. Have children – I’ve always wanted to be a young mum, no particular reason but it definitely just appeals to me, I’d love a child before I’m 25
  10. Create my own cocktail – I don’t really know what I’d include in it but it would have to be black, because that is my colour. I need to think of an awesome name too!
  11. Pass my driving test – Now you can see how long I’ve really been trying to write this post!
  12. Actually fill a scrap book – I’ve started so many, and never actually gotten around to finishing them.
  13. Visit Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross – As a Harry Potter fanatic, I obviously need to do this.
  14. Stroke a Tiger – They have been my favourite animal for as long as I can remember, they’re absolutely beautiful, I think it’s also the sense of danger too if that makes sense
  15. Visit a Drive in Cinema – I think watching one of my favourite films in a drive in cinema would be awesome. Like I really old fashioned one, with the red and white stripy popcorn boxes and everything.
  16. Visit the circus – I’ve never actually been to the circus, there’s one in my local town like twice a year and I will go soon, honestly.
  17. Re-create old photographs – I just think this would be so much fun to do! I doubt my dad would agree though. He despises having his photo taken.
  18. Learn a different language – I don’t know which language I’d chose, but it would have to be something completely new like I’m pretty familiar with Welsh and French. So I would go something completely new like Chinese or something.
  19. Go on a spontaneous trip – To somewhere completely new, not even in the UK! One of those, hop on a plane and go kind of trips.
  20. Visit a psychic – I have wanted to visit a psychic since I was about 15/16, I think it would just intrigue me with what the say.

Okay, I’m not going to lie this took me ages to actually figure out the 20 things I’d most like to do before I’m 30. What’s on your bucket list?untitled

Disney-holic Wishlist

I love Disney, I mean come on – who doesn’t? I definitely class myself a Disney-holic, I have tonnes of Disney themed things around the house, from pictures to mugs and much, much more.

Disney AND wishlist’s are definitely my two favourite things. So, there’s no better way to spend a dull afternoon other than window shopping all the Disney items I wish I had the money to buy. Let’s get stuck in;

Minnie Mouse Cross Body Bag | Now That’s What I Call Disney Princess | Princess Wall Art  | Bambi Socks | Mickey Mouse Mug | Beauty and The Beast Pants | Castle Throw Pillow | Princess PJ’s

Are you a Disney-holic? Tweet me @horrorgrrrrl I’d love to chat Disney with you!

Liverpool Shopping Adventure

Last week mumma and I took a little trip futher out than usual. Even though Liverpool is just on our doorstep, I haven’t been in months and mumma hasn’t been in years. So we thought it would be nice for a little change. With my birthday quickly approaching, she decided that she would like to take me shopping for some new clothes. So she suggested Liverpool. We were going to go the Saturday before my birthday but with my birthday being on a Sunday and Nathan’s birthday being the day before mine we decided against that. Not only because I would want to spend the day with Nathan but also, we decided we wanted to go and have a mumma-daughter day.

We planned our day a little earlier because as always, I usually spend the Saturday afternoon with her but the train journey to Liverpool is around about an hour. So, I got to mum’s around 10am and we got the 10:30 train from our local station. We had one change and only had to wait around 10-15 minutes for that and got to Liverpool just before 12pm. We headed to Liverpool one and straight into Topshop. I had a few things in mind which I wanted to pick up, which was a new bag because my trusty old Primark handbag is a little worse for wear. Although they’re great for the price, they don’t last so long – especially when you use it everyday. The others were a leather or leather-look jacket and some ripped mom jeans.

I picked up a few bits and bobs from Topshop and I decided I probably should try them on because I like so much just on the hangers but I am so fussy when it comes to how they look on me. I ended up taking about 6-7 things with me in the changing room but only coming out with 3 and although I loved everything I took in with me. I wasn’t too fussed when I tried them all on and I told myself I wanted to get the things that wowed me. Although I picked up a pair of ripped mom jeans (which were on my list) the size I picked up didn’t fit me and I couldn’t find the size up on the rails which sucked. I walked out of the store with a bardot style dress, a strappy skater dress and a t-shirt from the sale.

We planned on getting my boobs measured whilst we were in the city because my bra’s have gotten a little small on me lately. We headed to John Lewis for a nose around the beauty section and decided to take advantage of their Lingerie fitting service. Only to be told my boobs have grown 2 cup sizes – which totally shocked me and then obviously, I had to get some new bra’s. We picked a couple up from New Look along with a blush pink turtle neck jumper, which is majorly cosy. Great for a casual ‘I clearly can’t be bothered today’ kind of look. Nathan says it reminds him of something off Saved by the Bell.

We then headed to one of the pubs for some grub and a well deserved sit down. I had a chick and bacon burger with some fries whilst mum opted for a cheese and ham toastie. It was so nice to just chill, and plan the afternoon out a little. We decided that we’d head back to Liverpool one to to the rest of our shopping and stop at a few shops on the way, before walking back up to Liverpool Central and pop into Primark before catching the train home.

Obviously, I couldn’t wait to head to Urban Outfitters, although I was slightly disappointed that I didn’t love more things in there, I walked out with a cute pair of grey trousers which are going to look good for a smart-casual outfit in work. I want to get a nice pair of black sliders to pair with these because I think they will look cute.

I picked up my leather-look jacket from Zara, along with a cropped white box styled blouse in white to go with my trousers from UO, and a cute pink patterned t-shirt from their Autumn/Winter collection. Although I usually love Zara I’m a little unimpressed because when I got home and tried the white blouse on, one of the buttons broke. They are just so flimsy so I’m thinking I might pick up some more and replace all of them to save me worrying about the others breaking. We had a quick nose around a few other shops in Liverpool One, which included the Disney Store, Victoria’s Secret and HMV before heading out and back towards the train station.

Before heading to Primark, we quickly popped into River Island to nose at the bags. I’m so plain when it comes to hand bags, I always end up with the safe black coloured bag which is good to match with pretty much everything. What did I walk out with? A safe black handbag – as always. I need to be a little more adventurous when it comes to bags I think and step out of my comfort zone a little, maybe next time?

Primark saw me go crazy, everybody loves a bit of Primark don’t they? After snooting through the whole 3 floors I walked out with about 6 bra’s, some cute new pants, a pair of shoes, 2 tops, a shirt, a bomber jacket, a dress, pop socks and a few bits and bobs for my desk in work. As I say, I’m loving Primark lately. They have so many cute items, if I’d have spent more time in there I definitely could have added a few more thingsto my basket. But my feet were starting to hurt, and my mum was definitely getting a little bit tired and fed up of me what seemed to be dragging her around.

We then headed for the train and back home, where we stopped in mums favourite bar to have a quick breather and a well deserved alcoholic beverage before heading for a takeaway on the way home. All in all, I had an absolute ball of a day, mumma and I had such a laugh and it was super nice to have a change of scenery, and I think I did pretty well on the shopping side too.
