We’re All Mad Here

Aloha! Nathan and I don’t really do Valentines as such so when he said he had a surprise for me around Valentines Day I went into panic mode. I bought him a funny card and a bottle of aftershave as a fall back just in case we were turning into one of those couples that do. There’s no right or wrong with these types of things, it’s just personal preference I guess.

Rest assured, we are still a couple that don’t really ‘do’ valentines day, however we did do funny cards! I gave him his aftershave and he really appreciated it.

Anyway, back to the reason I’m here. I knew nothing. All I was told was to be ready 3pm sharp on Saturday. To do what? I didn’t know. I literally had no idea what I was supposed to be ready for. What type of occasion, do I dress up? Dress down? Heels or flats? I am not good with surprises, I like to know and be organised. So after threating most of last week, I ended up with a new dress just in case.

Fast forward to 3pm on Saturday I was sat on the sofa in jeans and a jumper and I finally knew what we were doing! We were off to good ole’ Liverpool. We headed to Hatters Hostel for the evening. If you don’t know much about them, they have are affordable accommodation and there are 3 across the country, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham. Although they aren’t Alice in Wonderland themed, the top hats make me think of the mad hatter.

We had a lovely evening wandering around Liverpool before heading for some JD chicken wings and cocktails from TGI Fridays and hitting the hey. Sunday we indulged in a ‘Spoons breakfast and did a little shopping, well window shopping because something that we can’t seem to part with lately is money. Hence the budget accommodation, although I don’t think I’d feel comfortable in some posh swanky hotel, I’m not that type of gal.

Until next time…

Things I Can’t Live Without

Besides your usual, loved ones, water, phone, oxygen, you know…

My watch, because remember that lovely few days of sun we had this summer? Yes, you’re right, we’ve actually had some decent weather in the UK for once. Well I thought it would be really clever and keep it on whilst spending some time in the sun. I now have a horrific tan line where my watch is.

Disney, especially Disney films. They are the ultimate go to, when you can’t be bothered getting out of bed? Disney film. Can’t sleep? Disney film. Your sick? Disney film. There’s literally a Disney film for every occasion.

My diary. How could I go a week without my trusty battered diary? Not the journal type diary. However my diary has become my go to and I do occasionally write my feelings down in there, along with my notes for posts, and your usual doctors appointments etc noted down.

A meal I couldn’t live without? Bangers and mash. Good old, traditional bangers and mash. My ultimate favourite. None of your fancy shit, I’m such a plain Jane when it comes to food.

Hair dye. I’m one of these people that cannot go at least two months without dying my hair –  thank you to 15 year old me who wanted to ‘experiment’. Whether it’s touching up my roots or changing colour. Dying my hair makes me feel somewhat better about myself. Plus, I can’t stay seem to settle on a colour. Say hello to your blue haired gal, which you may not have seen yet because I’ve lost the selfie love.

You’re probably gonna giggle at this one, but I seriously could not live with out my nanna naps, microwave sleeps, you know them little naps which make you feel revived and refreshed after them? Them! In the morning, the afternoon, lunch time they just make me feel so much better about life. Mainly because I get full on naggy bitch mode when I’m tired.

Tote bags. Quirky, cute, crazy, plain all the tote bags. There is a tote bag for every occasion, every outfit, every mood. The bottom of my clothes rail is a tote bag heaven. I love me a good tote bag to finish off an outfit. Plus they are just so useful.

Since moving back to Nathan’s parents, one thing I have missed more than anything is having my own space. I’m one of these people that love’s to come home from work and just sit in silence for a little while to reflect on the day, and whilst we do have our own room here and I’m crazy thankful for them for having us back – it’s just not the same as having your own front door to close on the world.

What can’t you live without? Let me know in the comments or tweet me!

The Tattoo Queen

Okay, so since I turned 18 I have to admit I love nothing more than sitting under the needle for a new beauty added to my canvas. I’ve always wanted to do a little photo archive post on my tattoos, purely because of how much I love each and every one of them.

Since becoming a little tattoo addicted my dads new nickname for me is; the tattoo queen. He’s never loved my tattoo’s purely because I am his little girl, he doesn’t want my skin covered in permanent designs. But he understands that it’s my body, and my choices.
If any of you follow my Instagram, you will have seen my tattoos before but for those of you who haven’t I thought it’d be nice to do a short post of all of my tattoos. Altogether I have 10, mostly on my legs with a couple on my arms. I got my first on the day of my 18th birthday which is the smallest I have.
I then went for my second the day after, I just couldn’t help myself and that’s when I knew I’d definitely be getting more. Here are a few photos of my little collection;

98% of my tattoos were all executed by the same artist Daniel Buckler, he’s a local artist from my hometown and tattoos at Dexterity Ink alongside Cathy Sue, Tom Clayton and apprentice Jemmy Lee.
Dan specialises in more traditional pieces, his style is awesome and I definitely recommend you check out his work.

My Halloween special; which I got last Halloween, and my most recent – the delicate line work flower on my wrist – were both done in the same studio but by Tom. When I first started getting my tattoos he was in the latest stages of his apprenticeship and which he has now completed.

A lot of people have mixed opinions on my tattoos but as I said above; it’s my canvas so the choices I make are my own and I love every single one of them.

Am I going to get more? Definitely.
Am I going to regret them one day? Definitely not.

Do you have any tattoo’s/tattoo stories? I’d 100% love to hear them!
